The Best Acne Treatments for Different Types of Skin

The best acne treatments for each type of skin differ in their functions and the manner in which they were formulated. They can be formulated primarily to minimize the oil produced by the sebaceous glands or they can focus on preventing the pores from getting clogged. Pimple cures can be specifically formulated for oily skin, for dry skin or for normal skin. The best acne treatments for each type of skin address the core problems of each skin type. Most of the time, dermatologists will prescribe pimple treatments based on the patient s type of skin. A formula for normal skin might not work as well when used on dry skin and might even cause irritation or create more skin problems. According to some studies, oily skin is the most acne-prone. This is because the excessive oil produced by the sebaceous glands can clog the pores of the skin and create a homing ground for bacteria, particularly the acne-causing one called Propionibacterium acnes. For patients with oily skin, specialists usually prescribe an alcohol-based acne cure or facial wash. Alcohol-based formulas are the best options when it comes to minimizing the skin s production of oil. They evaporate in a short time and are designed to remove excess oil. These formulas are not recommended for people with dry skin since they can easily cause irritation due to their ability to remove excess moisture; and since dry skin has not much oil to begin with, using a formula designed to control excessive oil production will be detrimental. Dry skin types, on the other hand, are commonly prescribed with moisturizer-rich formulas. Be it an acne cure or a facial wash, formulas for dry skin are usually formulated to provide more moisture to the skin. These products usually come in the form of creams, lotions and gels. What these products do is provide water or moisture that a dry skin lacks. Just like alcohol-based products are not fit for dry skin, moisture-rich formulas are not recommended for oily skin. For people with normal skin, choosing acne formulas or facial wash products are relatively much easier. Lotions, ointment, creams, gels and facial masks can be prescribed to people with normal skin. In cases when acne is present, the severity of the acne is usually the basis by which a dermatologist will decide what product to prescribe. Normal skin can tolerate most of the facial care formulas available in the market, although alcohol-based products will be probably bottom of the list since these have stronger ingredients and can cause skin dryness. However, having a normal skin should not encourage a person to just use whatever formula is available to him or her; consulting a skin expert is still the best way to find out what will be the best treatment. The best acne treatments for each type of skin differ in the manner by which they are formulated and in the ingredients that they contain. To make sure that you re not taking a risk with your skin, seek the advice of a dermatologist to get a better assessment of your skin type and get the most appropriate type of product for your acne. Solutions for Life - Tips to Renew Skin Beauty

If you re like most people, your skin does not rejuvenate itself each morning; you have to work hard at having beautiful skin. Weather conditions, the foods we eat, make-up, wrinkles, acne, blemishes, and other factors affect how our skin fares on a day-by-day basis. Use the solutions for life tips below to renew your skin beauty and look and feel young again. Beauty and Stress Stress weighs you down emotionally, mentally, and physically. It also affects your skin and is detrimental to your health. Someone under a heavy load of stress tends to have more skin lines at the mouth and forehead, crow s feet around the eyes, and an overall “stressed” look. There are, however, solutions for life to help alleviate stress. Exercise daily and take time each day to do something fun. If you have children, throw a ball, read a book, or take a walk or bike ride with them. Avoid Sun Exposure Too much sun exposure on the face can do tremendous damage to your skin. Your facial skin is very sensitive and should be guarded with UV-protection sun blocker when you plan to be outdoors for a while. Choose Beauty Products Wisely Many people are picky when choosing their clothing; however, when it comes to buying beauty products or cosmetics - the cheaper the better. Unfortunately, the cheaper beauty products are not always best for your skin. Choose foundational and eye make-up that enhances your skin s beauty. Also, cleanse your skin using facial care products that add moisture to your skin. Consult with a skin specialist to find out which make-up or beauty products are best for your type of skin. Just one visit may be worth it years down the road. Diet and Skin Beauty Your diet also affects your skin. Drinking plenty of water daily is a great way to keep your skin and complexion looking healthy and firm. Also, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables so your skin will get the vitamins and minerals it needs to stay healthy. Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol. Both can do horrible things to your skin. Sleep Well Another solution for life when it comes to skin beauty is to get plenty of sleep. Fatigue causes the skin around your eyes to sag. By getting adequate sleep each night, you ll appear fresh and feel like new each morning. Remember: Clothing is important. Accessories are a must. But your skin will be with you for life! Use the above skin tips and solutions for life to add lasting beauty to your skin and enjoy healthy skin for life! How To Control Oily Skin, Part 2

So many of us have oily skin and ca not seem to find the best way to care for it. Because everybodys chemical makeup is different, what works for one person may not always for another. Because of this, we have compiled this list of tips and tricks from a number of people who suffer from oily skin. These tricks have worked for them and hopefully you will find the ones that will work for you. Chamomile Toner; use fresh chamomile and witch hazel to create your own toner. Let the chamomile wilt for 24 hours, then place in a mason jar. Cover with witch hazel, close the jar, and let sit in direct sunlight for 2 weeks. Other beneficial plants that can be used along with the chamomile are: calendula, comfrey, elder, Echinacea, lavender, and peppermint (especially good for a morning wake up). To use any of these additional plants, you will need to do it when you make up the toner. Wilt the plant for 24 hours, like the chamomile, and place in the mason jar with the chamomile. Cover all of the plants you have in the jar with witch hazel, close the jar, and let the jar sit in direct sunlight for 2 weeks. This way of making a solution is referred to as an infusion. The witch hazel is infused with the beneficial extracts from the plants. By wilting the plants for 24 hours before putting them in with witch hazel, you are letting water evaporate from them, leaving only the valuable extract to infuse your witch hazel. Safflower Oil Pills; take one 3 times a day. You will see results beginning after a week; your oily skin will begin to balance and pimples will begin disappearing. If you choose to eat a salad with safflower oil as a dressing, omit one of the doses in pill form. Once the issue is under control, you can change dosage to twice a day. Clean everything; your makeup applicators need to be cleaned regularly to get oil out of them. The oil on your face gets transferred to the applicators you use, so using a good antibacterial dishwashing liquid will dissolve the oil on them as well as killing any bacteria that they may have picked up. This cleaning needs to be done once or twice a week, depending on how oily/broken out your skin is. Aspirin; make this mask for exfoliation. Place 10 aspirin tablets in a sandwich baggie and crush. Pour the powdered aspirin into a small bowl and mix with 1 ½ tablespoons hot, distilled water. Apply to your face and let sit for 20 minutes. With wet hands, massage tiny circles all over your face lightly, rinse with warm water. Sugar Cane; apply pure sugar cane extract to your oily areas. Adzuki Beans; grind dried Adzuki beans into a fine powder (easiest in a coffee grinder), and store powder in a small, airtight container. Use a small amount of this powder (about 1 ½ teaspoons) mixed with enough distilled water to make a paste. Lightly rub the paste on your skin to exfoliate. Remember that exfoliation should be done with care. You do not want to damage your skin from over exfoliation. Egg Whites; beat 2 egg whites until firm (they will form peaks), apply to your face and leave until dry. Cleanse the mask off with a mild organic cleanser. This mask has been around through many decades of facial care history and has proven to be beneficial to many people. Sweets; mix a couple of tablespoons of honey with enough granulated sugar to make a paste and massage your face with the mixture. Use a light hand and make tiny circles, concentrating on oily areas and clogged pores. Rinse with warm water. Between the natural exfoliates in sugar, the moisturizing benefits of honey, and the tiny sugar granules, this mixture is excellent for your skin. The World Of All Natural Skin Care - No Need To Go Under The Knife

Have you considered seriously for an all natural skincare facial treatment? It is so easy to spend the money on expensive chemical facial products to clean your skin. The more expensive the facial care product is, the better it is - or so it seems. All natural skincare is one of the most popular methods to maintain your healthy glow. People often seem to prefer the surgical procedures to augment the natural look of their skin. However, the world of natural skincare is still one of the most attractive form of skincare products that maintain influence over the masses. This is because natural skincare is not only just affordable, but also that there are no ethical issues to consider that many will face when opting for the plastic or augmentation surgery such as Botox injections and the like. Many people today are looking for instant solutions to their skin care problems or want to physically augment their appearance because of a certain biased sense of dissatisfaction with their look. Instead of turning to this instant gratification, however, most physicians prefer prescribing natural skincare solutions and offer a variety of choices in terms of how to moderately treat your skincare issue. Consult the experts first the next time before you head off to seek a surgical, instant option. The likelihood that a skincare procedure that involves a surgical instance or an injection of skin bacteria is healthier than a natural skincare option is pretty slim. Next time you consider trying to plump up your lip structure with a Botox injection or try to puff up your cheeks with some sort of skin bacterial injection source, do consider seriously using a natural component ingredient first. This can often be administered in the form of a cream or lotion that will be significantly less severe than actually adding chemicals to the facial structure and bloodstream. The side effects of a chemical addition to your blood can potentially cause large problems for many people and are not recommended above natural skincare solutions. Instead, go seek the opinion of a natural skincare expert and allow them to map your facial structure for the skin type and other factors. This will help in administering the best natural skincare product for your face and body, helping the treatment work with your skin type and colour. In turn, you will experience results that will last a long time with proper application. This all comes at a fraction of the risk and a fraction of the cost of any surgical procedure or any injection type. Administering natural products into your skin is a better way to maintain healthy skin and definitely, a better way to improve the look of your skin. All Natural Skincare for everyone. 6 Important Tips For Acne Prevention

Technically speaking, there s not one definite way to prevent acne from breaking out on your face. Acne is not caused by the dirt around you or the foods that you eat, although those could be a factor in their proliferation. Acne is normally caused by the oil glands overworking and then combining with dead cells and bacteria. Here are 6 good tips you can follow in order to reduce instances of acne breakouts: 1. Get rid of excess oil manifesting in your skin. Oil can be washed off with mild soap and water. You can also request a dermatological anti-bacterial facial wash from a skin care expert. Washing the face helps remove dead skin cells too. It would also unclog your pores, making them germ-free. However, you have to be careful not to wash your face too much as it can get dry and irritated. 2. Don t pop, squeeze, or pick your acne. Messing with your skin would only produce harm. If you squeeze acne, you are just opening your skin up to various forms of infections. And there are higher chances that the pimple would scar when it heals. Use topical treatments on the acne and don t touch it more than necessary. 3. Take nutritional supplements. Vitamins and minerals could help a lot in maintaining the health of your skin, as well as the rest of your body. Take multivitamins on a regular basis. Over-the-counter supplements should be sufficient. However, you can always ask your doctor what nutrients you need to take to make your skin healthy. 4. Adapt a healthy skin regimen for your skin. There are a lot of facial wash, toners, moisturizers, and cleaners available in the market today. It is good practice to adapt a daily facial care regimen so that acne breakouts are prevented. However, you have to choose the products that are mild and trusted by dermatologists. Harsh skin care products may only lead to blemishes if applied on sensitive skin. 5. Eat a balanced diet. It is true that whatever you eat shows off on you. Eating a balanced diet may not assure you of a totally acne-free skin. But it could definitely help a lot in controlling acne. Citrus fruits and green leafy vegetables are good sources of vitamins and minerals. They could be good antioxidants as well. 6. Keep an acne topical treatment with you all the time. It is strongly advised that you treat acne on its first signs. If you see a single zit forming on your cheeks, don t give it a chance to proliferate. Apply topical creams that contain benzoyl peroxide. That should treat acne before it flares out. Thats all there is to it. If you follow these six tips, you will most certainly keep your skin looking a lot cleaner. A lot s been written and said about all the ingredients that are supposed to effectively erase or conceal all kinds of unwanted signs, lines, and discoloration from our faces, hands and bodies. New potent ingredients are discovered and rediscovered every day. As a result, the beauty-care-industry is flourishing (on our wallets!). And you are the lucky one if you manage to find the product that your skin really likes. Whatever your perfect-potion-search mission is, I m not trying to stop you. I sincerely hope you find one and really enjoy it until finding the replacement. However, there s an ingredient in our daily skin-care routine that s ignored or forgotten far too often. Moreover, in my opinion it s considerably more important than most people realize. Besides, the best things in our lives are quite often for free. Pamper and caress - not torture your skin while cleansing, applying serums and moisturizers (or any other kind of product). Glide over your skin as lightly as the wings of the butterfly, dab lightly and gently. Use the tips of your fingers (tips of your ring fingers around your eye-area) instead of your palms. Benefits are obvious: the treatment of your face is much more tender this way and there s no wasting of product on your hands. Furthermore, avoid stretching, pressing and hitting too hard. Your skin will be greatful! While paying attention to what you re doing, you re expressing love and care for your facial area. In doing so, there s a chance that you won t have to run out anymore to buy every single new beauty product on the market. Instead, you can carry around magically happy and glowing face. D. Dermalogica Active Moist - How To Get The Best Out Of This Moisturizer For Oily Skin Conditions

Oily skin moisturizer needs a lightweight, oil-free type consistency. This will provide moisture protection for oily skin and actively combat dehydration from within. Dermalogica Active has been specifically formulated for oily skin problems and moisturizes and smoothes the skin without leaving any greasy after-feel. Oily skin is commonly seen as being a problem which afflicts teenagers but, sadly, age is only one of several contributing factors in an oily skin condition … anyone of any age can have it! The onset of an oily skin problem can often be round about puberty which is when major hormonal changes within the body can play havoc with the skin and cause skin to react badly in some people. For women, however, hormonal changes occur not only during puberty but also at the beginning of each menstrual cycle, during pregnancies and during menopause. If a woman is taking a birth control pill this can also affect skin badly and contribute to an oily skin problem. Oily skin can, however, last for a lifetime as it can be hereditary, so if your mother or father had it then chances are that you will inherit it too! Poor diet, a generally unhealthy lifestyle (such as partying too much and not getting enough sleep, drinking excessively and smoking!) and pollution can all play their part in creating or aggravating an oily skin condition. Emotional and physical situations can also trigger hormones to go into overdrive, thereby exacerbating an oily skin condition. Oil in the skin (known as sebum) is produced by the sebaceous glands which are located within the second layer (or dermis) of the skin. These glands are most plentiful in the face, neck, chest, head and back, and are one reason for these areas being affected by excessive oil production more than in any other area of the body. In order to reach your skin from the glands, the oils flow into nearby follicular pores and work their way to the skin s surface. This oil then plays an essential role in the health of skin and hair. It helps seal essential moisture into the skin and helps keep skin plump and hydrated. However, in some people excessive oil is produced, and as a result hair no longer looks clean and shiny but rather greasy and dirty-looking, and skin can look shiny, slick and grimy. For people with an oily skin problem there are some positives about having this skin condition (yes, really!). The best thing is that oily skin tends to age less quickly than other types of skin and will have less wrinkles and creases as it ages. People pay good money to try and keep their skin looking youthful, so having a naturally more youthful, less wrinkly skin without having to pay anything for it can only be a very good thing! People who are afflicted with a dry skin or combination skin condition would be thrilled to have skin that is naturally more plump and youthful looking due to its natural abundance of oils, so if you have an oily skin problem there are distinct benefits! However, the better your diet is, the better your skin will look and behave, and this applies to everybody of course! If you eat lots of junk food and your diet is lacking in essential minerals and vitamins then this will be reflected in the condition of your skin and in your body in general. To prevent oily skin, or to prevent an oily skin problem from worsening, and to improve the condition of your skin (and your overall health!) there are simple dietary changes that you can make, such as:- Drinking plenty of water, or uncaffeinated drinks such as fruit juices. This will keep skin super-hydrated and flush out toxins, providing one of the easiest and cheapest oily skin treatments! The more toxins there are in the body, the more they will play havoc with your skin and only exacerbate an oily skin problem. Don t drink too many soft drinks and restrict alcohol intake. Restrict your intake of sugar, salt, chocolate and highly processed and junk foods. Reduce the amount of unhealthy fat in your diet. Avoid processed meats, fried and highly seasoned foods. Don t consume hydrogenated fat, animal fats or heat-processed vegetable oils. Healthy fats, such as olive oil and those contained in oily fish, are essential for healthy skin and hair, however, so everybody should include these as part of a regular, healthy diet in order to keep skin at its best. Make sure your diet is rich in proteins, and eat plenty of leafy green vegetables and fresh fruits. The more fresh fruits and vegetables you can incorporate into your diet the better as they are full of vitamins which help keep skin glowing and healthy! A deficiency in Vitamin B2 can cause, or contribute to, an oily skin problem. Good sources of Vitamin B2 are whole grains, nutritional yeast, wheatgerm, beans and nuts. There are other simple steps you can take to improve an oily skin problem:- Evening Primrose Oil is beneficial for the skin. It contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) which is an essential fatty acid that strengthens skin cells and boosts their moisture content. Avoid smoking, or spending too long in a smoky environment, as this promotes enlargement of the pores and will impair the overall health of the skin. Get enough sleep, as the skin s cellular repair activity is at its optimum during sleep. Regular exercise boosts circulation and encourages blood flow to the skin. This will nourish and cleanse your skin from within, and prevent it from looking sluggish. Wash your face with water that is hot enough to melt the oil, but not hot enough to be uncomfortable. Hot water will only aggravate an oily skin problem, and cold or lukewarm water don t remove oil well. Vigorous washing only stimulates the sebaceous glands to produce more oil and can further stretch pores that are already enlarged, so when washing your face be gentle! Oil based cleansers are also an efficient way of dissolving oil but every trace of cleanser needs to be thoroughly removed with a toner which is not alcohol based as that can actually dehydrate skin and cause the skin to tighten and shrink, which in turn can lead to oil flow through the pores becoming restricted, causing clogged pores and breakouts. When cleansing, massage your face well with your fingertips, genbtly using an upward and outward motion, as this will improve the skin s circulation. To clear excessive oil, use a clay mask. Clay helps to neutralize and purify the skin, and pulls oil from the pores and absorbs it, so is ideal for an oily skin problem. Honey has natural antibacterial properties and is great for disinfecting and healing minor blemishes, so skin that is prone to oiliness and breakouts will greatly benefit. It is also extremely gentle on sensitive skin. You can make a paste by mixing honey with cinnamon powder. Apply the paste over your face and neck and leave on for at least half an hour. Rinse off thoroughly with warm water and gently pat skin dry. This is a great natural oily skin treatment. Oily skin still needs to be moisturized because even though skin is high in oil, it can still be lacking in moisture (water) so it s important to use a moisturizer that doesn t contain oil in order to keep skin hydrated. Aloe Vera has excellent healing, anti-inflammatory properties, so facial products containing this are beneficial in oily skin care. Choose facial care products and make-up which have been specifically designed for an oily skin problem. Skincare products for oily skin often contain a glycolic acid or salicylic acid, and these do an excellent job of exfoliating the skin, reducing sebum buildup and giving oily skin a fresher, more youthful appearance. Avoiding picking or squeezing any blackheads and pimples. It may be tempting to squeeze, scratch, rub or touch your pimples but doing this will only increase sebum production and constantly touching skin, especially with dirty fingers, will only make skin that is already prone to oily skin breakouts worse. Squeezing ruptures the membranes below the skin, which causes infection and sebum to spread underneath your skin. The result is more pimples so, no matter how tempting it may be to have a go, don t do it! Keep hair off your face. Hair contains oil as well and this will only contribute to breakouts on skin that is already prone to excessive oiliness. You should also wash your hair every day and after workouts; Wash your pillow case frequently. Your pillow case absorbs the oils from your skin and reapplies the dirt and oil. This causes oily skin breakouts. Keep your sheets and pillowcases clean and fresh. There are also many oily skin treatments and oily skin care available today, both over the counter and by prescription, that can help sufferers of oily skin. Active Moist is one such product, providing optimum moisturization for an oily skin condition. People who have oily skin often believe that they don t need to use a moisturizer but that is not the case. They do need to moisturize! However, they need to use one which is specifically formulated to provide moisturization and hydration to their skin without adding excess oils. Active Moist is a good example of a targeted solution specifically for oily skin and combination skin conditions. Dailygrooming Ltd is a UK Salon and Official Platinum supplier of the Dermalogica skin care product. Dermalogica is a skincare system researched and developed by the International Dermal Institute. Best Information and Treatments for Aging Skin

Aging skin is probably the only skin condition that neither of us can avoid. We all grow old, and so does our skin. And sadly, it will definitely show. Maybe this is why this has sparked so much interest for dermatologists as well as your everyday average person walking down the street – in short, everyone. Over the years, countless medications, treatments, and products have been developed, that aim to halt or at least slow down the skin’s aging process. Nowadays, people are living longer and more active lifestyles compared to past generations. For today’s generation, you have to feel good to look good, in as much as you have to look good to feel good. According to dermatologists and skin experts, the process of skin aging has two factors that usually work together in this life long skin drama anthology. There’s natural aging due to the constant, unavoidable increase in chronological age, and then there’s solar aging, which is mainly due to the harsh effects of the sun. Natural aging is the cause of a number of environmental and genetic factors. As the skin ages, the cell movement from its basal layer (or the innermost layer) of the epidermis, to the stratum corneum (or the outermost layer) becomes slower. In other words, cells that replace old or damaged skin tissue on the surface gets there at a slower rate, thus cells are shed more slowly. The skin surface therefore becomes rougher, with a visibly uneven texture. This in turn tends to make the skin look dull, dry and wrinkled. Also, as a result of this, the epidermis becomes thinner and the skin becomes more fragile. Dr. Alison Meynard, leading dermatologist at the Facial Care Center states “…the deterioration of the skin can also be attributed to some genetic influences. Some factors in natural skin aging, such as the speed of deterioration, can be determined by an individual’s genetic make up. Medical research is constantly being done to find new ways of improving the skin ageing process depending on a person’s genetic history. “ Solar aging on the other hand, is brought about by the harsh effects of the sun. Sunlight is also a cause of significant skin damage and it is unfortunate that the results of this are not immediately noticeable. Sun-loving people who bask in golden rays on the beach on a regular basis actually expose their skin to the harmful ultraviolet radiation of the sun. Scientists state that even during cloudy weather, ultraviolet rays from the sun are still able to penetrate and damage the skin and that tanning beds are of no alternative either because they’ll do just as much damage. So does this mean our sunbathing days are over? Not by a long shot. Skin experts say that we just need to minimize sun exposure, especially during summer. And when we do go out, it is important to always have the necessary (and the right) protection from the heat. The selection of the right sun screen and / or sun block depends on its ability to protect your skin from both UVA and UVB radiation. In addition, products with SPF or Sun Protection Factor must have a value of 15 at the very least, and applied 30 minutes before going out under the sun. For long walks in the heat, make sure to reapply this protection every two hours. Also, skin peels like TCA peels can remove the weathering and aging affects of sun exposure through increased exfoliation. Product Review: Natural Shea Body Bar

The Shea Body Bar from The Natural Newborn arrived packaged tightly in a draw string bag, and my first thought was how great it smelled. I chose “Frozen Margarita”, but there are other choices on the website. Ingredients and reordering information were on the side of the package, making it easy for me to order this fantastic soap again. I was amazed how great this soap really was! Not only is it natural, but it lathers well and leaves skin extremely soft. There s no “film” left on your skin like other natural soaps leave. It also is a natural white, leaving out unnatural dyes or color additives. The Natural Newborn specializes in natural baby products. However, they have an excellent line of products for toddlers and moms as well. The Shea Body Bar I had the pleasure of trying out is currently listed under “Handcrafted Soaps”. On their website you ll also find “Mommy s Mini Spa”, which has products such as facial care, body care, and other products just for mom. Under “Toddler Tub” you ll see items such as hand soaps, skin & body care, bug repellents, and other items for toddlers or older children. 5 Beauty Tips For Radiant Glowing Skin

Most of us are very self conscious about our skin. We often want our skin to look vibrant and healthy and we truly do need to do something to protect our skin from all the different things our environment throws at us. Our skin is the largest organ in our body and performs many different functions. It primarily protects us against the invasion from all the little foreign nasties that try and make our bodies their home. It also serves as the main transfer point for the release of toxic substances from our bodies. So you see how important it is to take the best care of our skin as possible. Now, if you ve found yourself coveting the gorgeous skin of fashion models and celebrities in most of latest kiss and tell magazines, here are some tips that will help you on your quest for beautiful skin. Tip #1: Drink Plenty Of Clean Water One of the easiest and simplest ways to clear and supple skin that is healthy and moisturized is to drink plenty of water. Water has long been considered as the most effective natural treatment for any skin condition because it is a PH balanced solvent. It prevents dehydration which is capable of producing sebum or oil from the sebaceous glands. Your skin needs water in order for it to function best, thus doctors and nutritionists recommend that a daily intake of approximately 6 to 8 glasses of water per day is the best treat for our skin. Tip #2: Pay Attention To Your Diet. Nutrition plays a vital role in skin health too. The jury is still out on exactly which foods cause the most problems. It truly does depend on your genetic makeup as to which foods you are most sensitive to. Of course chocolate in hotly debated. Some say that chocolate does affect the condition of the skin, while others say it doesn t. Whatever the result may be, the best recommendation is just to follow a nutritious diet that has a number of fresh fruits and green-leafy veggies, as well as food containing lots of fiber. Tip #3: Consider Exfoliating Your Skin Many experts say that exfoliating your skin is one of the best ways to attain a dazzling skin tone. So, try to invest in a good body exfoliant or loofah type pad as it is helpful in eliminating the dead skin cells from your body. Accordingly, this should be done at least twice a week so to enable your skin to breath as it should. Exfoliating your skin also prevents ingrown hair problems as it deeply cleans your pores. Be aware however that it is not recommended to use exfoliants designed for your body on your face. The main reason for this precaution is that the facial tissue is more sensitive than those tissues of the rest of your body. Nowadays, there is a myriad of exfoliating sponges available over the counter, as well as a number of great exfoliant gels that are expressly formulated for your facial skin. Please note however that if you are suffering from moderate to severe acne be cautious when using exfoliating gels or sponges. It may actually aggravate the acne infection itself. It may be best to use only those products designed for acne prone individuals. You can find products of this type almost anywhere and for best results it is probably wise for you to consult with your physician on what products would be most accommodating for your skin type. Tip #4: Set Up A Regular Facial Care Routine When it comes to facial skin care, getting into a healthy beauty routine is a great idea. Most doctors today highly recommend that you cleanse, moisturize and tone your skin twice every day. When cleaning your face don t forget your neck area as well. If you are a woman before going to bed at night, consistently remember to remove all your make up. Wash your skin before you go to sleep, no matter how tired you may feel after a long day. It was found out that during the night the skin goes through a process of elimination and cannot breathe properly if it is obstructed with make up. If you are a man be careful to avoid shaving rashes. It s quite common especially when using cream and a blade. Just remember to follow the direction of hair and try not to shave against the grain. This will help keep your rashes to a minimum. Tip #5: Don t Over Expose Your Skin To The Sun One of the most important precautions when it comes to skin care is avoiding over exposure to the sun. I know, I know, you ve heard it a hundred times before but over exposure to the sun not only causes sun burn but many other types of skin problems as well including cancer. So, while popular sunblock s only block out the UVB rays some of them still let in harmful UVA rays. Make sure you check the label. It is very wise to cover up before venturing into the hands of Apollo. If possible use a wide brimmed hat while spending time outside to keep the sun from your face. It s good for your skin to get some sun but just don t over do it. Pay attention to the time you spend in direct sunlight and take precaution if you exceed 15 to 20 minutes. http://www.AcneMedicineMan.com was developed by Barry Crewse and is one of many sites created on skin care issues. Acne Cleanser For Treatment Of Acne

Acne is a common skin condition affecting adolescents and sometimes adults too. Acne is caused due to the blockage of skin oil pores (sebum glands) which causes inflammation in the skin. This inflammation gets readily infected by bacteria present in the skin. There are many ways to treat acne. Most acne cleansers are available over the counter. Acne cleansers are products for facial care that remove dead cells, remove oil, dust, dirt, pollutants and open up pores in the skin. They are usually used twice or thrice daily and generally in conjunction with skin toners and moisturizers. Acne cleansers are to be used with luke warm water. Acne cleansers generally contain either of the mentioned ingredients: Antibacterials like Benzoyl peroxide, Triclosan and Chlorhexidine gluconate which work by killing the bacteria present in acne. Benzoyl peroxide is the most popular acne cleanser ingredient. Moisturizers are used with benzoyl peroxide to prevent drying of skin. Skin exfoliants like Salicylic acid, Glycolic acid and other mild acids which act by peeling skin on a micro level to open the pores. Skin exfoliants prevent build up of dead skin on the skin which combines with skin oil to block the pores. Skin exfoliants also clear the follicle ducts in already blocked up pores. They are usually used to treat mild to moderate acne. Retinoids like Tretinoin, Adapaline, Retinol and Isotretinoin which work by refulating the life cycle of follicle cells of sebum glands to prevent hyperkeratinization of skin cells. Retinoids can cause an initial flare up of acne before the acne cleanser takes effect. Antibiotics like Erythromycin, Clindamycin and Tetracycline which act by killing the bacteria P.Acnes in acne. Antibiotics are usually applied in cases of severe acne in conjunction with benzoyl peroxide topical acne cleansers. Acne cleansers for Photo therapy. Light has been known for a long time to cure acne or at least subsidize it. Intense blue light with acne cleansers containing delta-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) are considered a good combination against acne. This combination works by increasing porphyrins in the bacterium P.Acnes in Acne which when irradiated by blue light generates free radicals which kill the bacteria. It is reported that this treatment has an effective cure rate of 74%. Less widely used Acne cleansers use ingredients like Azelaic acid, Zinc, Chromium and Sulfur. However the effect of these ingredients is not known clearly. Most of the above mentioned acne cleansers are available over the counter, however self medication can be dangerous. Consult a doctor before using any acne cleanser. Keith George always writes about valuable news & reviews. How To Use A Facial Moisturizer?

How To Use A Facial Moisturizer? Moisturizing is an integral part of facial care for both men and women. Basically what a moisturizer does is hold the moisture in your skin, and by doing that, it avoids dryness caused by weather, genes and even clothing. But using a moisturizer is only half the battle; you need to know how to properly apply it. Many people just apply it on a dry face, but this is the wrong way to do it. You have to first take a bath and wash your face, and then while your skin is damp (and remember not wet, but damp) is when you apply the facial moisturizer. Why? To take advantage of the moisture in your skin and avoid wiping it off with the towel. If you want even better results, let the first application dry off for about a minute and then apply moisturizer again. This is a great tip that ll give you some major results. What kind of moisturizer is better? Use a moisturizer that is best suitable for your type of skin but also I would recommend buying a moisturizer that also contains some kind of solar protection. Solar protection is huge cause of dryness and inn the long run it can produce premature aging. You need a product that contains a least a 15 SPF. Nowadays there are more and more moisturizers that serve this double function. So, there you go. Pretty simple huh? Remember that this should be done at least daily to see the results. If you apply it for a couple off days and then you forget about it, you ll probably end up disappointed. Seven Healing Wonders of the Calendula Flower

The Calendula flower is a very bright orange flower. From the family of the Marigold plant and can grow in pots, window boxes or outside in the garden. Calendulas love the sun and are very easy to care for. Plant preferably around April, you can harvest the flowers from early summer to late fall depending of your location. Originally grown in Egypt on the border of the Nile, it was already used before Cleopatra s time for its healing properties. Healers from the Meditterranee and the Middle East utilize the whole flower for different medicines. (Skin, digestive system, wounds, vascular problems just to name a few.) The easiest way to take advantage of all the properties of this wonderful plant is to harvest the whole flower and separate the petals before placing them in a flat basket. Actually you might use any natural container as long as the petals can breathe. Cover with a clean cloth and let dry for a few days in a warm dark place. As any medicine herbs they need to dry in the dark to keep their healing properties. Store in a glass dark jar preferably or away from the light in a cool place. Then just use the petals, as you need them. 1 Sun damaged Skin Infuse the Calendula petals with carrier oil at very low heat for about 8 hours in double boiler so you do not burn the oil. Strain the petals in cheesecloth and keep aside. Add the infused carrier oil with equal amount of Carrot seed oil and Apricot Kernel oil. Most recommended carrier oils are: jojoba oil, grape seed oil, wheat germ oil, and hemp oil. 2 Soothing and Relaxing Bath Take the cheese clothes with the Calendula petals from the above recipe and put them in your warm bath. It will soothe and heal your skin. It is particularly efficient for dry and itchy skin. For a more relaxing moment, add a few Lavender essential oil drops and light a scented candle. The bright orange color of the flower will also bring some sun to your soul during the long winter blues. 3 Moisturizer for Dry Skin Use the carrier oil infused with the Calendula petals as a daily moisturizer for your body. Keep in a cold place or even in the fridge. Another way to create a nice moisturizer for the body is to use olive oil. Add the petals to an organic cold pressed olive oil, in a dark glass jar and let it sit for 12 to 15 days. You will know it is ready because of the dark orange color. Use a cheesecloth to drain the oil before using it. With olive oil it is better to add a little bit of Vitamin E before storing to naturally preserve the moisturizer. Be aware that if you keep it in the fridge, the olive oil will solidify. You actually can use the same process with any kind of oil you would like: Avocado oil, coconut oil, almond oil, pumpkin seed oil, rosehip oil and the oils listed above are the most common carrier oil. Again you can keep the cheese clothe with the Calendula petals and use it in your bath. If you do not have use for it right away, place the cheese clothe in a close container in the fridge. It will keep for at least 2 to 3 weeks. 4 Healing Wounds The medicinal properties of Calendula are very complex and well research. I just want to pass on a few of Grandma recipes. The following are an alternative to commercial antiseptics and ointments. I always have a little jar of Calendula oil at my house in my first aid kit. I have found that applying a little bit of Calendula Oil on scratches, cold sores, light cuts, bruises and burns have worked very well for me, my dog and the kids. 5 Calendula Tincture 1 cup of petals mixed with vodka and distilled water: 2 part vodka, 1 part water until the petals are covered. Seal it off with saran wrap. Let it sit in a warm dark place for 6 to 8 weeks. Strain the petals and put the tincture in a dark glass jar. Take 3 or 4 drops in a 1 oz glass of water for digestive problems and gastro intestinal upsets. 6 Tea Infuse the dry leaves with boiling water to make a wonderful natural tea. Very good for sluggish liver and upset stomach. You can mix with nettle leaves or fresh mint leaves for a different taste and more healing properties. 7 In Cooking a Great Alternative to Saffron Rich in vitamin C, it is a great add on to salads, soups, and pasta or rice dishes. Nice colorful finishing touch for your dish, the petals are pleasing to the eye and the palate as well as healing for the digestive system. When you cook your rice or your sauces with a few petals, they will naturally turn to yellow or orange. It is easy to plant Calendula seeds. They prefer a light well drained soil with full exposure to the sun. If you were going to use the flowers and the petals for consumption, I would recommend buying organic seeds. This plant reseeds easily so all you have to do is let a few flowers go to seeds for your next year harvest. It is important to collect your Calendula flowers when the flower is wide open and healthy. This is when all of the healing properties are their peak. Plant around April and you can harvest until late in the fall. If you do not have a garden, planting the seeds in window boxes will work very well to.
