Learn How to Deal With Oily Skin

You may feel that having oily skin is a curse and a challenge to deal with. It is completely natural for your skin to produce oil and it happens because of sebaceous glands which are located in the middle layer of skin known as the dermis. Oil is produced to keep your skin moist and supple. However sometimes the sebaceous glands over-produce oil which in turn causes oily skin. Do You Have Oily Skin? Oily skin is most prevalent in teenagers due to rampaging hormones. If your days as a teenager are well behind you there are other ways to determine whether or not you have oily skin. First of look in the mirror to see if there is a sheen to your skin, particularly your “T-Zone”. For those who aren t sure what a “T-Zone” is, it s the area of skin that starts at your forehead and goes vertically down your nose and to your chin. The T-Zone also covers your skin which goes across the bridge of your nose along to below your eyes. Look in the mirror and decide whether you have oily hair. This is another indicator. If you find it difficult for your makeup to stay on your skin for anything more than a few hours then this is certainly an indicator. If you feel the need to be always patting your skin with a tissue then this is likely because of the oils in your skin. Spots on your skin can be caused by oil, stress, hormones and other factors. Oily skin isn t just present on the face. You re back, chest, neck, shoulders and arms can be oily too. How to Care for Oily skin? Be Gentle: Most people with really oily skin comment that they want to strip all their skin away with a blowtorch or at the very least use harsh soaps. Be careful about using harsh products, the oil your sebaceous glands produce is important because they act as a natural moisturizer. Don t Make Matters Worse: It may be tempting to use harsh soaps on your skin but all this does is kick start your skin into producing even more oil, making matters worse. Clear Pores: If your pores are clogged with dead cells, bacteria or dirt this can cause spots. Treat your skin with care, use a gently cleanser and warm water rather than hot water. Use a non-abrasive cleanser and stay away from toners which have alcohol in it. When using moisturizers, do so in moderation. When buying make-up and sun factor make sure they are suitable for oily skin and are oil-free. Descriptions to look out for include non-comedogenic or non-acnegenic . The Roles of Moles

Do you have a mole? The majority of moles are hereditary and those that were not caused by genetics are assumed to be results of sun exposure. In this respect, they are like freckles that can form due to overexposure to sunlight. Since we are discussing the effects of the sun on the skin, I must remind you to shield your skin from sun damage by using a SPF-containing lotion everyday. Researches have shown that an SPF of 15 or higher is required to protect your skin from the sun. Dermatologists and other health experts contiually stress the importance of including skin care into you routine. Sun damage can lead to skin cancer and other skin diseases. Remember to protect your skin, even on cloudy days. Many people commit the mistake of assuming that the sun cannot harm their skin if the sky is cloudy. It has been determined through research that UV rays from the sun can damage you any time. The worst sunburn that I have ever suffered happened on a cloudy day. I was still young at that time and I foolishly assumed that the clouds would protect me from the sun. The ironic thing is that some people consider moles to be beauty marks if they enhance your beauty and appear on your face. Beauty marks have been appreciated throughout the centuries and in many parts of the world. Women have, for along time, used make up to apply faux beauty marks. The most famous recent moles belong to Cindy Crawford, Enrique Iglesias, and Madonna. Some however are considered undesirable and are removed. As a result, some people are left with some scar tissue at the removal site and sometimes a dark mark or depression is left where the removed mole once resided. If you have moles that are unsymmetrical or that change shape and color over time, you need to consult a dermatologist. The dermatologist will be able to determine if they are cancerous or if they nothing to worry about. Additionally, it would be a wise for every one to get screened for skin cancer on a yearly basis. If you have moles, then you can consider yourself unique. The pattern or appearance of your moles is different from any other in the world. Whether they are considered as beauty marks or not, you have to embrace these marks as part of your physical personality. Dermatitis Herpetiformis - A Chronic Skin Condition

As you are no doubt aware Dermatitis Herpetiformis is an extremely common skin ailment. In fact, it is known for being the chronic variety, which simply means that it does not go away after it is developed no matter how you treat the condition on an ongoing basis. There are, however, quite a variety of treatment methods available that can help to relieve and control the symptoms that are caused by it. What Are The Symptoms? It has many symptoms for you to watch out for. The most common and visual include an extremely itchy rash and the local affected area will show signs of redness, swelling, scaling and lesions in the form of papules and vesicles. Causes of Dermatitis Herpetiformis Dermatitis Herpetiformis can be caused by an enormous variety of outside influences. Principally the condition is a result of external skin irritants and these are due to the exposure of allergens. Blame for the outbreak of this type of dermatitis can also be attributed to other common irritants such as detergents, soaps and other cleaning products and chemical mixtures. It has been recognized that even cigarette smoke and alcohol can both be responsible for further aggravating the skin and responsible for the onset of this skin condition. A further cause is the skin s exposure to cheap jewelery, particularly items containing nickel. It is also commonly associated with a reaction in the intestine to gluten products and is quite often contracted by people who suffer from Celiac disease. Corn Sensitivity May Be A Side Effect It is often responsible for causing corns on the skin. Corns are basically thick patches of skin. They can appear as hardened raised bumps or flaky, dry or waxy skin. Sometimes corns are confused with Calluses, but they are quite different. To compare the differences between corns and calluses, you will generally find that corns are typically much smaller in size. They usually have a hard centre and are surrounded by inflamed skin. Corns usually appear on the parts of the skin that get the driest, including the feet and toes and often on and around elbows. Corns can be incredibly painful, particularly on the feet and toes when they rub against shoes. When it comes to finding an effective treatment for Dermatitis Herpetiformis corn sensitivity, there are a number of alternative options to consider. Recommended Treatments for Dermatitis Herpetiformis The best treatment regime you should follow will vary depending on the severity of your own particular case. In essence the most effective way to treat it is to ensure that the affected area is kept moisturized. If this approach fails then you should consult your doctor who would prescribe some sort of medical treatment. It is always very important to keep in frequent contact with your doctor about your skin condition and together you can work to identify the cause and establish a treatment regime to which your condition responds favorably. If your Dermatitis Herpetiformis is a direct result of Celiac disease then the best, and only option, is a life-long adherence to a strictly wheat and gluten-free diet. Trial and error, as well as persistence, are the key factors in treating your Dermatitis Herpetiformis successfully. Psoriasis is a skin condition identified by the occurrence of red itchy thick scaly patches of skin. There are certain types of psoriasis and each one occurring in different severity and skin discoloration. It is a complex medical condition and there is no real definite answer as to what causes it, but certain factors can contribute to the possibility of developing psoriasis. A family history of psoriasis, or particular pharmaceutical drugs, solvents, chemicals and emotional stress have been known to trigger the breakdown of the skin that leads to psoriasis in some people. Guttate psoriasis can appear on the limbs trunk and scalp and the virus is often activated within the body after a throat infection. Drink Tea for Healthy Skin

What I love about natural skin care is that you don’t risk getting nasty side effects from chemicals that don’t work well with your skin. There are many skin care products for men that contain natural ingredients, for example grapefruit is commonly used for anti-aging skin care and so on. Now recent research also suggests that a cup of tea a day keep skin cancer away. In a study of nearly 2,200 adults, researchers found that tea drinkers had a lower risk of developing squamous cell or basal cell carcinoma, the two most common forms of skin cancer. Men and woman who had been loyal tea drinkers for years, drinking more than a cup a day, where 20-30 percent less likely to get skin cancer. And those who had been drinking tea for decades had of course an even more lesser chance to get cancer. Of course these researches doesn’t mean that we can just sit under the sun with no sun screen as long as we drink tea. Tea just gives us an extra layer of protection next to regular sun care. So drinking tea won’t make you immune from nasty sun burns, but adding tea to your regular diet and always wearing proper sun care is a sure way to steer out of the way of skin cancer. So to sum it all up drinking tea helps to reduce skin cancer but you always have to use sun screen when going out to the sun, especially men who are more prone to skin cancer. 5 Things to Take Care of Before Choosing Skin Care Products

The health market is full of tons skin products from creams to lotions to pills to even injections. Now I am sure, 99.9% people won t be having any clue whatsoever of which product to buy. Normally they just look at the testimonials of the product website and they just order it. So in this article, I would like to give you some tips and guidelines on how should you choose your skin care products. 1. Your goal - What exactly worries you about your skin?. Your ultimate goal may be to look good, but taking the time to really meditate on your reasons for choosing anti-aging skin care products will certainly be beneficial in the long run. Is your goal to reduce wrinkles, improve elasticity, moisturize dry or “leathery” skin or decrease age spots, Acne or Eczema? Are you looking for a solution to a combination of these problems? 2. Your skin type – Several products are available for each of the different skin types. If the treatment does not agree with the type of your skin, you may end up feeling very dissatisfied. Determine what type of skin you have: dry skin, oily skin, combination skin or sensitive skin. Also check for rashes or other skin problems such as Rosacea, Eczema and Psoriasis. If you have sensitive skin, be sure to choose only products that will not irritate your skin, but will sooth as well as protect your skin. 3. Your health – If you have allergies to certain ingredients, make sure you initially use trial sizes of creams or lotions. Even after you start using an anti-age product, be determined to take care of the skin that you already have by following the healthy guidelines such as a nutritious diet, less exposure to sun and environmental pollutants, lots of water to drink and hydrate our skin as well as soothing solutions to stress such as meditation and yoga that will keep your skin supple and young. It is best to consult a doctor before you start trying out anti-aging skincare products. A licensed dermatologist can determine if you have any allergies or other conditions that are affecting your skin’s health. 4. Your options – After you have ruled out any ill-health issues, you can safely consider the options available for anti-aging skincare treatments such as natural, organic or chemically based Creams, Lotions, Peels, Collagen supplements, Wrinkle fillers or Plastic surgery. Again, your options may also vary by time that you can spend on skin care everyday. Herbal creams and lotions are a wise choice for those who can stick to a strict daily or weekly regimen while Botox injections or surgery may be the choice for those who cannot be bothered with daily skin care routines. Make sure you read and study all your options thoroughly, especially the options that change your appearance drastically such as Plastic Surgery. Although we see a lot of attention in the media on people who look better after such surgeries, it is also prudent to know that this type of major surgery has its pitfalls and tragedies. 5. Your budget – Taking care of your skin and your health can be costly. There are several choices in anti-aging solutions available for each budget and time schedule. If you want to see immediate results, you can have Botox injections that change your appearance within minutes. Herbal peels that remove dead skin cells, Creams and Lotions that help change the appearance of your skin over time are reasonably priced. Expensive Plastic surgery can change your appearance extensively in a reasonably short time. Choose wisely. ©2007 http://www.AntiAging.ws We are One of the Biggest Content and Information site on AntiAging and AntiAging products with tons of articles which are updated daily. Slow Down Aging Of The Skin

It is never too early or too late to slow down the aging process. Whether you have taken care of yourself up to this point or not, you can amend that situation by learning how to slow down aging. Your lifestyle will dictate the status of your health and your looks. You can incorporate the principles of good health into your life and it can include little things like having good posture to bigger things such as making sure that you have enough good nutrients in your diet to maintain strong and healthy bones. You must exercise especially to maintain spinal and bone health. If your bones are not strong enough to last, you will find it difficult to slow down the aging process. Five topics deal with issues on how to slow down the aging process. These five topics are skin, hands, eyes, smoking and teeth. If you pay attention to these five topics and follow the tips in each topic, you can go a long way to slowing down the aging process. Your Skin Aging shows up on your skin first. You can tell when your skin starts to wrinkle and sag on your face and your body. You can give your skin a regular work out with exercise. Regular exercise will give you a bloom in your cheeks. When your body is thirsty, it gives you the feeling of thirst. This means that your body has reached the point where it really needs water. If you are chronically thirsty, your skin will look dry and will become easily wrinkled. You can prevent this by drinking enough water and liquids so that you do not become thirsty and are well hydrated instead. Water is the best liquid to drink, followed by fruit juice and teas. You must also keep your skin clean and moisturized. As we age, our skin thins and dries out. In this way, it becomes susceptible to damage. You can help your skin by protecting it with moisturizers. A good moisturizer will keep your skin smooth and supple so that it will not wrinkle or sag as easily. Young Hands Your hands can give your age away as much as the wrinkles on your face. You will need to care for your hands regularly in order to keep your hands smooth and wrinkle free. Some general tips for keeping your hands fresh looking include wearing rubber gloves when you do household chores to avoid contact with harsh chemicals and cleaners. You will go far by regularly applying a moisturizer to your hands. Do not allow your hands to be exposed to harsh weather conditions so that you can avoid chapping and burning the skin of your hands. Both of these conditions will age your hands. Wear gloves and a sunscreen to protect your skin. Take care of your nails so that they will enhance the look of your hands. Youthful Eyes You can easily use natural treatments to soothe your eyes and prevent bags from appearing under your eyes. Place two thick slices of a chilled cucumber on your eyes while you lay down in a calm room. Keep the cucumbers on your eyes for about ten minutes for a refreshed look. You can do this once a week for a relaxed look around your refreshed eyes. Your eyes will be bright and will not look stressed out. If you do not have cucumbers, use cooled, used teabags from your black or green tea or an eye mask. Regular application of an eye cream in the morning and at night will prevent wrinkling around the skin. Smoking Will Age You If there is one thing that will improve your appearance, it is giving up cigarettes. Smoking cigarettes may not only make you seriously sick, it can accelerate the aging process. Smoking causes wrinkling around the mouth and it will eventually give you a smoker s cough, which is certainly an aging characteristic. You must be determined to stop smoking if you want to stop the aging process that smoking seems to accelerate. Your Teeth A beautiful smile can make you look younger. You will need to look after your teeth well throughout your life especially as you age because if you have to wear dentures, this can be aging. Whiten your teeth and get your teeth repaired to make the best of your smile. You can slow down the aging process through regular exercise, a healthy diet and avoiding the damaging rays of the sun. When you are out in the sunshine, wear a brimmed hat and sleeves. When you get out of a bath, moisturize your skin while still moist. Exfoliate skin to remove dead skin. Follow these tips to slow down the aging process and keep up a youthful appearance. Many anti aging skin care brands are available from shops, along with skin anti-aging care articles for advice.

Get Stretch Marks Off Your Skin Using Moisturizers And Fruit Acids

Under normal circumstances, skin can be considered as one of the most elastic organs of the body. You can turn your head, flex your muscles, or do a split; yet you never have to worry about your skin tearing up or never getting back to its original shape. But believe it or not, there are instances where the skin can be overstretched; there are actually two factors that can really affect your skin s elasticity, namely: pregnancy and rapid weight gain. If you are having a baby or experiencing tremendous physical growth, there is a big tendency for your skin to develop fine lines which are commonly called stretch marks. These are actually scars which indicate that certain skin tissues have been torn apart due to abrupt growth or stretching of the skin. Being over-weight or pregnant extends your skin so much so that your dermal tissues have to produce too much of the fibrous protein called collagen. In essence, your stretch marks are the result of a disintegration of skin tissues in the affected areas. Stretch marks usually appear in areas like thighs, arms, shoulders, stomach area, buttocks and breasts. They appear as lines with a pinkish, brownish, or purplish color when they are new; and in time, they can lose most of their pigmentation and appear as white or silvery streaks. It is important to note that stretch marks do not pose any harmful effects to your health; your main concern with these scars is your self-esteem and sense of beauty. Generally speaking, stretch marks can be prevented; but it takes a big amount of dedication to do that. Massaging the areas which you think are prone to the development of stretch marks can greatly improve the blood circulation in those places; increased blood circulation on your skin gets rid of toxins and other bad elements that reduce your skin s elasticity. Eating foods that are considered as allies of your skin can also help in stopping the appearance of stretch marks; these include food items that are abundant in zinc, vitamin E, and silica among others. However, if stretch marks did develop on your skin, then you must follow a more comprehensive plan to fight off the unsightly scars. Currently there are two important elements which can help you in defeating stretch marks. If you want to know what these are, read on and pay attention. Moisturizers And Creams Sure, you have heard all about the countless moisturizers and creams out there. But before you think that the cosmetic industry is out to pull a fast one on you, first consider the facts. Contrary to popular belief, most skin moisturizers and creams sold in the market contain essential substances that can help rejuvenate and improve your skin. Take the case of beneficial Vitamin A. You can find this substance in carrots, but if you do not want to eat carrots by the basket and make a rabbit of yourself, you can use moisturizers and creams with the highly-concentrated and acid form of Vitamin A which is called tretinoin. This substance binds itself deep into the skin cells and allows the skin to exfoliate and create new and healthier layers. Tretinoin is found on most moisturizers and creams and is best used if the stretch marks on your skin are just starting to develop. Fruit Acids Not all acids can be harmful to your skin. Acids that have been extracted or developed from fruits, aptly called alpha hydroxyl acids, can help eliminate stretch marks in two ways. First, fruit acids help your skin become more flexible. And second, fruit acids give your skin the chance to rapidly produce new cells and layers by acting as astringent against old scarred layers of skin. Using fruit-based acids, you will observe that your old unhealthy skin, including stretch marks, will be shed off in a few weeks. Apart from ordinary fruit acids, moisturizers or creams, you can also try products like Strevaxl which are specifically designed to fight off stretch marks. Beginning Black Skin Care For Men

Black skin care is unique, it presents its own issues, and its own good thing too! Black men for example suffer two of the most well known issues with black skin. I m talking about “Razor bumps” and “Ingrown hair”, both of them related. Pseudofolliculitis barbae, also called by its common name “razor bumps” present on faces who have coarse, wiry or curly hair, like… You guess black men! Did you know that around 85% of men have to deal with razor bumps everyday? Yes and this number increases everyday. Razor bumps appear after shaving. The recent shaved hair curls back and burrows into the skin adjacent to the hair follicle. Right after shaving, the hair ends are very sharp and this facilitates the appearing of the bumps, and penetration of the skin. Then comes the nasty part: the razor bumps start itching, burning, possibly causing scarring and making shaving a next-to-impossible task. To end razor bumps many men shave tried depilatory creams, but these creams will often leave the skin with lots of irritation. Some “razor bumps cream” seem to help but on the long term the side effects catch up. How Ingrown hairs begin Although it is true that both men and women suffer from ingrown hairs, men tend to have it more acute because of their facial hair follicle s coarseness and thickness Ingrown hairs build after the hair has been recently cut. As your hair grows, it curls over inside the follicle and doesn t make it to the surface. The result is an unsightly, “bump” on the black skin. A few razor bumps moreover form when a growing hair exits the follicle and bends back towards the skin surface. When these sharp, shaved edges of coarse hair reach the skin surface, they grow back into the skin, producing these bumpy spots. The Way to Solve Ingrown Hair on Black Skin The best solution for most men is the simplest one: the use of tweezers. However it is good notice that nowadays there are good products out there destined to prevent ingrown hair and thus razor bumps. A proper shaving technique is also needed to prevent ingrown hairs and razor bumps. Here we leave you with 5 tips to star today with your black skin care for men. 1. Be sure to use a clean blade at all times. If you have a bad case of razor bumps we recommend that you use a new blade every week. Be sure to throw away safely the used ones. If you use an electric shaver, replace the rotary blades accordingly. 2. Shave following the direction the hair grows. This is very important around the neck areas since shaving against the grain is one of the main causes of pointy, sharp hairs that can grow back into the skin. 3. Avoid stretching your skin to “shave better”. This may cause darkness and discoloration of underlying skin. 4. Avoid skin irritation by eating well. Foods that contain lots of fat, oil, cholesterol or sodium make your skin prone to damage. 5. Depilatories work fast, but can produce even more irritation and redness. Remember to use an alcohol based cream to put on your face after you depilate. All Natural Skin Care As A Home Business - Possible?

All Natural Skin Care As A Home Business - Possible? I always liked natural products. Every time I go shopping I always end up in a natural products boutique. I could make a business out of my passion. Why not? This is one of the best way to have success in life. It sure help to have a good attitude when you enjoy what you are doing and this is half the success in my book. So this is exactly what I did. About 2 years ago, I created a company specializing in an all natural skin care products. I came at it from a quite unique approach. I was a consultant in natural herbal treatments for many different diseases. I have had formal studies as an herbalists for many years, as well as an apprenticeship in traditional Chinese medicine. Even though very few of the “potions” that we herbalists make are helpful for all natural skin care, I believed in using my vast knowledge of herbs and extracts to help make better quality all natural skin care products. Most of my friends were very skeptical when I first talked about it. I know why, you see, I come up with a lot of ideas, but I am not really good at following through on them. As many Aries, quick to start projects but not always finishing them. They had expected my all natural skin care business to be like that. When I came out with my first skin anti aging cream, they figured that I would be out of business in five or six months at most. They thought I would be closing down within the first year when I came out with a new line of all natural skin care products meant for dry, chapped skin. Now, 5 years down the line, my all natural skin care business is working pretty well thank you. My friends can not figure out how I do it. But like I said earlier a little bit of passion goes a long way. Perhaps that was the key “ingredient” missing in my other projects. When my friends ask about how to make money in the all natural skin care business, the answer is easy. I tell them that the secret is finding a niche market. I mean you have to concentrate in a specific area of a market. You see, all natural skin care is not that new, and it is not that specialized. Persons from all over the planet buy skin care all natural beauty products to heal and rejuvenate their bodies. So what do I do that the other businesses don t? I try to cash in on a local clientèle. Not only do I sell all natural skin care products, but I provide them with products grown locally, indigenous plant oils. Rather than being imported from all around the world, they are all made right here in California. These days, many people like to buy local products. They have a sense of community. Many are ready to pay a lot for all natural skin care products that are proved to be safe. They can feel good about what they are buying if they know that it is locally grown and manufactured. And feeling good about their purchases is what keeps the great number of clients coming back over and over again. It s no big secret. Put some passion into it and think outside of the box by selling locally grown or produced ingredients. Voil

Make sure that you have these items: Soap and Water Rubbing Alcohol Cotton balls Apple Cider Vinegar (normal vinegar should work fine also) Bandages or medical tape Follow these simple steps and your warts can disappear within several days: 1. Natural Beauty Skin Care

Probably the most important part of looking good is to take care of your facial skin. Wearing the most perfectly applied make-up will not cover up a poor skin. Take the time to practice a regular cleansing routine. To clean facial skin use a gentle, fragrance free cleanser, preferably one that is pH balanced. Deodorant soaps shouldn t be used on your face. They may irritate your skin and eyes or clog your pores. Dip into your fridge for facial cleansers when your regular cleanser runs out. Buttermilk or yogurt are gentle, natural skin cleansers. While much time and attention is lavished on the face, the neck area needs as much care and consideration so always include the neck area in your skincare routine. Moisturizing is a necessity. Again, the product with the least amount of chemical additives is the best. Always use a light moisturizer on your face and neck after cleansing. Dry Skin - If you suffer from dry skin it s very likely you ve tried numerous miracle cure products only to discover they were not. You do not necessarily need to buy those expensive creams or lotions to treat the problem, you can often find good solutions by following a few useful tips. Do not use tap water when cleansing dry skin. The deposits are too drying and never, ever use hot water. Unless your skin is oily, avoid washing your face with soap as it removes the natural oils protecting the skin. Nourish and hydrate with Chamomile, Evening Primrose or Aloe Vera. Massage your face with a nourishing cream every night, paying particular attention to the area surrounding the eyes where tiny lines and crows feet develop. Refrain from using toner as this can dry out the skin. Oily Skin - One great advantage of oily skin is that it ages at a slower rate than other skin types. Cleanse with plenty of warm water and pure or lightly medicated soap to prevent the clogging of pores. (contrary to popular belief, hot water can deprive your skin of much needed moisture). Limit washing your face to two or three times daily as too much stimulation will produce more oil. Rinse your face thoroughly and apply a toner/astringent on the oily areas of your skin by massaging with your fingertips using upward and outward strokes. Harsh products deprive your skin of natural oils and encourage flakiness. This in turn can lead to a reaction known as reactive seborrhoea, where the oil glands work overtime to compensate for the loss of natural oils. When skin becomes dehydrated it causes the outer layers to shrink and restricts oil flow through the pores leading to blockages and spots. Use a cleanser that contains benzoil peroxide or salicylic acid and avoid heavy creams. The skin around your eyes and mouth and on your throat may benefit from a nightly moisturizing, plus a mere touch of moisturizer in the morning. If your oily skin is scaly, you can often correct the problem by using a deep-cleaning exfoliant on alternate nights, and following the treatment with a light coating of moisturizer. Try using a clay or mud mask. If you have sensitive skin, use white or rose-coloured clays. Exfoliate skin regularly with a natural exfoliant such as glycolic acid to remove dead skin cells, balance oil production and reduce the appearance of enlarged pores. Before applying makeup, use an antiseptic day cream with active ingredients that diminish sebaceous secretions. Look for benzyl peroxide in the list of active ingredients. Use a light antiseptic night cream from time to time if you wish, and apply a clarifying mask one or two times a week. Foods To Eat For Clear Skin

Have you ever heard the popular phrase “You are what You eat”? Whether you like it or not your diet will reflect on your skin. Eat healthy food, and you will look healthy. Eat junk food, you won’t be looking good. That is why it is important to know the right foods to eat for clear skin. This article will help you get on the right track of skin care, because it is not all about using creams and products; the most basic skin care begins by eating right. First you should know that a diet for the overall health of the body is the best place to start, and in most cases that is enough for your skin, unless you have a deficiency of some type. But there are certain foods you must eat in order to keep your skin looking healthy, young and radiant. Start by cutting junk food. People who eat junk food gain weight, have a pasty complexion and even bad hair. I know it is hard at first, but you can start little by little, always walking towards your goal. And please, don’t get into yo-yo diets. By gaining and losing weight constantly, your skin will stretch, and then remain saggy. Fluids Fluids are essential to our skin diet because they help moisturize the skin. Experts recommend that we should drink 6 to 8 glasses of water throughout the day, but don’t fall in the trap of drinking the 8 glasses in the morning, you should rationalize them and drink them in a natural way. Don’t replace water for coffee or sodas. Caffeine is a diuretic (tends to increase the discharge of urine). Reduce your intake of coffee or tea to a maximum of 2 per day. Also don’t drinking too much water 2-3 hours before going to bed to avoid morning puffiness and skin stretch. Alcohol is bad, avoid it at all costs if possible. Essential Fatty Acids Also called EFAs, they are obtained from food, because our bodies can’t produce them. There are two classes of EFAs: Omega 3 and Omega 6. For our skin Omega 3 is the one we need. EFA’s should account for a 15% of our calorie intake, and can be found on: * Sardines * Tuna * Salmon * Nuts * Seeds and their oils (ground flaxseeds) * Prawns * Soya beans Reducing the intake of saturated and processed fats is very important if you want the EFAs to work. These fats cancel its effects. Antioxidants Antioxidant nutrients protect us from infection and can prevent us from degenerative diseases such as cancer or heart disease. These nutrients are found in Vitamins A, C, E and some B complex vitamins; and minerals selenium, manganese and zinc. Antioxidants play a key role destroying free radicals (electrochemically unbalanced molecules that are produced within our bodies by chemicals, too much sun exposure and stress). Free radicals damage collagen, and collagen is what keeps our skin elastic. We can find antioxidants in: * Berries * Black grapes * Brazil nuts * Broccoli * Carrots * Cherries * Chestnuts * Hazelnuts * Kale * Raisins * Papaya * Peas * Peppers * Prunes * Spinch * Sweet potatoes * Tomatoes Iron Iron is used for the formation of hemoglobin. A deficiency in iron brings anemia, and this shows up in our bodies by a pale complexion and dark circles under the eyes. Iron is best processed from animal food but can be found also in some vegetables. The best sources of iron are * Red meat * Seafood * Liver * Eggs * Spinach Vitamin A Vitamin A helps in the formation of new cell, this keeps our skin supple and is vital for our eyes and hair. If you are lacking of Vitamin A, your skin will be dry and flaky. It is manufactured by our bodies from beta-carotene and can be found in: * Whole milk * Whole butter * Liver * Oily fish * Eggs * Dark orange vegetables (carrots, sweet potatoes, winter squash) * Dark green vegetables (broccoli, spinach, kale) Vitamin C Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant, essential for the production of collagen (the elastic tissue in our skin that declines with age). Every time you are smoking, under stress or under too much sun exposure, your are draining vitamin C from your body, so it is best to avoid these situations in excess. Vitamin is found in: * Citrus fruits (orange, lemon, grapefruit, lime) * Tomatoes * Potatoes * Papaya * Broccoli * Brussels sprouts * Black currants * Kiwi * Strawberries * Peas * Cauliflower Vitamin E Another antioxidant, Vitamin E has a powerful action against the damage of free radicals. This vitamin helps our skin retain its moisture, and a lack of it brings premature wrinkles, pale skin, acne, easy bruising and slow wound healing. Vitamin E can be found in: * Vegetable oils * Nuts and seeds * Peanut butter * Wheat germ * Whole grains * Avocados * Sweet potatoes Vitamin B complex Keep your skin moist and smooth with Vitamin B complex. It releases energy from food for skin metabolism. This can be found in: * Milk * Oily fish * Poultry * Red meat * Offal * Eggs * Bananas * Soya beans * Whole grain * Wheat germ * Peanut butter * Fortified breakfast cereals Beta-carotene Beta carotene is the plant form of the vitamin A, converted by our bodies. It protects us from the aging effect of the sun and can be found in: * Dark green vegetables (spinach, broccoli, watercress) * Orange fruit and vegetables Selenium Perfect for protection against free radicals and to counter dry skin. Selenium along with vitamin E support the immune system. Found in: * Cereals * Meat * Offal * Seafood * Eggs * Cheese * Brazil nuts * Whole grains * Mushrooms * Beans * Molasses * Wheat germs Zinc Zinc is another mineral vital to the immune system. It manufactures collagen and speeds up healing in our bodies, included skin. A deficiency produces stretch marks, a dull complexion, white spots on fingernails, dandruff and stubborn blemishes. Zinc can be found on: * Seafood * Red meat * Cheese * Brewer’s yeast * Whole grains * Mushrooms * Offal * Eggs * Turkey and nuts As you see there are many components in our diets that can help our skin. Instead of making yourself a diet just for skin care, make one that works for the health of your overall body, and then, if you find a deficiency you will know what foods you need to eat to keep your skin clear and good looking. It’s all about balancing your diet. Anti-Aging Skin Care Treatments

Precaution There comes a time during the mid years of life, when the signs of growing age start becoming apparent. The mirror reflects one s visage with wrinkles or fine lines and the thought of taking preventative measure — anti aging skin care — comes to the mind. Though resorting to these measures at an earlier age as a precautionary measure would have kept the skin in better health and delayed the aging process. Even if one wakes up to the need of anti aging skin care only after noticing the first wrinkles, it is not too late. The signs should not be snubbed and remedial steps should be taken without further delay. Good anti-aging products, though not super drugs, contain nutrients and vitamins. These have a super effect on the skin, singly as in Retinol, or in combination. The best reason for the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face is cracking of collagen molecules in skin. Anti-aging emulsion ingredients are, for the most part, not tiny enough to enter the skin, which limits their effectiveness. However, an innovative operation `Collegian Infusion Delivery System is found to be capable of delivering entire collagen molecules into the skin and to keep the skin conditioned, glowing and removing wrinkles and fine lines. Another process called Dermabrasion has also been utilized for a long time for various skin conditions, even for removal of tattoos. Though this causes rawness, mild distress and some dense yellow fluid oozes from the skin, it is considered normal and expected outcome. The scabs left by the liquid can be removed without much struggle using wet cloths. The use of laser facilities in Dermabrasion enhances its accuracy and it is considered excellent by doctors. To exfoliate the dead outer layers of skin and halt the aging effect, a process called Microdermabrasion, using fine mist of crystals and vacuum action, is carried out. Various types of aging skin, irrespective of the color of skin, can be treated using this operation in a short time with no side effects. This can even be self-applied at one s own home using a home Microdermabraion kit. In the modern life-style, with heightened exposure to dangerous toxins, aging skin is inevitable. However, treatments like Dermabrasion, Microdermabrasion and Hydroderm provide necessary nutrients and vitamins and counter the aging process of the skin. These are available over-the-counter except in the case of laser Dermabrasion which should be carried out by a degreed dermatologist. The key to anti aging skin care is to take these measures as soon as possible. For more revolutionary skin care products, click skin care . How Can Vitamin C Reduce Wrinkles?

How Can Vitamin C Reduce Wrinkles? Recent research has shown a possible and credible link between consuming foods that are rich in vitamin C to reducing wrinkles and other signs of skin aging. Also, these studies have found that diets that were high in fats and carbohydrates can lead to greater wrinkling and skin aging issues. So what can you do to ensure enough vitamin C in your diet to keep the glow of youth shining on your skin? Well, the first step is to know what the vitamin C rich foods are! This doesn t mean you have to eat so many oranges that your skin starts to look orange but it does mean that you should pay attention to foods that are higher in vitamin C and rotate them through your daily and weekly menu planning. Foods that are rich in vitamin C and ultimately good for your skin include many of the following: Citrus fruits (such as oranges, lemons, grapefruits, tangerines), paw paw, bell peppers, strawberries, cranberries, kiwi fruit, cantaloupe, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, guava, and tomatoes. Most of us have very little problem working the fruits into our diets, especially with such delicious options but the veggies prove difficult for many. Try eating salads that include broccoli and tomatoes at least twice a week for a little extra boost that doesn t carry quite as many calories as some of the fruit selections. You can also steam your broccoli and top it with a bit of soft cheese (the kids may even join you in enjoying this delicious treat) once a week, and cabbage rolls with carrot and tahini for lunch or a delicious treat will help get even more of the vitamin C you need into your system. The trick is to make it an adventure rather than a chore. Use your imagination and prioritize. If you want youthful skin it is much less expensive to change your diet than to go through painful (to your wallet as well as your skin) Botox injections every few months. And as another bonus, these are foods that are good for you in other ways as well, such as helping your body fight off infections because of the antioxidants in them. There are those that disagree with the findings of this study citing the fact that there are many factors that contribute to the formation of wrinkles. Some of these determining factors include genetics, sun exposure, and lifestyle choices such as smoking, alcohol consumption, etc. But these studies are suggestive that our diet may be a factor in how young our skin looks. So there you go. You now know the benefits of vitamin C in our diet and their effects on our skin in having less wrinkles. And to get enough of this vitamin is easy. The Battle Against Aging Skin

In our youth conscious society, aging skin has been shown the front line. Your skin, being your epidermis, is the part of you that people see, and gives an accurate picture of your overall state of health and age. If you are at all worried about your appearance, then taking good care of your skin is absolutely vital. The best way to combat the ravages of aging skin care is to begin when you are young. The negative effects of age on skin don t just happen overnight. It actually begins occurring right after you’re born. Technically, you could even make the argument that your skin starts to ‘age’ at the moment of conception. In many cases aging seems to occur rapidly when we reach certain ages, but the reality is that the visible effects of aging skin are the result of a process that has been occurring for as long as you’ve lived. So far as aging skin care goes, the sooner you act the better. What causes skin to age can be attributed to several different things, but the major overriding cause of aging skin comes down to damage done to the elastic proteins. The elastic proteins at the active agents that keep your skin tight. The culprit because the damage are known as free radicals. What the heck are free radicals you ask? A free radical is just a technical term for an oxygen compound that is no longer beneficial, but to the contrary, could cause harm. It actually doesn’t always have to be oxygen, but because of our atmosphere it almost always is. An oxygen molecule that has been split is highly reactive and very corrosive to pretty much anything and everything it happens to come in contact with, including the proteins in your skin. Since oxygen is everywhere, there s really no way to avoid its damaging effects. However, you can lower the amount of free radicals that occur in your skin by doing several things. UV radiation is a major source of free radicals, as it is just the right wavelength to split oxygen molecules, so staying out of the sun is an excellent way to employ aging skin care. A limited amount of sunlight everyday is fine, and actually good for you because you obtain the central vitamins from its, but its never a good idea to take in the sun if you’re worried about aging skin care. Even if you re using sunscreen, some UV rays are going to penetrate and do damage to your skin over the long haul. Another way of pulling aging skin care is to abstain from tobacco and alcohol products. Smoking anything, especially tobacco, is the perfect way for your body to ingest free radicals, exactly what you do not want to happen and too much drinking will have the same affect. The best ways I know for aging skin care are to be on the defensive, as these are without question the most effective ways to keep younger looking skin. Once wrinkles to occur, the only way to get rid of them is cosmetic surgery, and aging skin care products will become nothing more than just different ways of concealing the lines and wrinkles. Skin Care Is More Than Skin Deep - What Do You Choose To Absorb

Our skin is a reflection of our inner health and well being. It reflects radiance when we are in good health and a dull appearance when our health is compromised. Our skin functions as the major organ of elimination of toxins and impurities for our body. It can be viewed as a valuable form of body communication providing us with information about the state of our health. When our skin appears less than vibrant and clear it is a sign of imbalance and can possibly be an indication of disease. The foods we eat, how we handle stresses, the quality of the water that we use will reflect almost immediately the condition of our skin. Our skin is bombarded by toxic matter from our environment. Therefore it is doubly important to provide nourishment and protection with carefully chosen healthy skin care products. We can positively affect our health and the condition of our skin by the lifestyle choices we make. The skin s capacity for absorption - What do YOU choose to absorb? Absorption of chemicals (natural or synthetic) through the skin depends on several factors. Everyone s skin is different. The condition of one s skin, hydration level, pore size and density influence absorbability. Our skin is composed of several layers. The stratum corneum is the primary layer. It serves as a protective barrier to keep out materials which do not belong in our skin, body cells and body system in general. Thin skin is more readily penetrated by toxins and impurities than thick/dense skin. Different materials vary in absorbability dependent on the nature of their chemical make up. Numerous body care products on the market incorporate ingredients known as penetration enhancers to assist (force) the absorption of ingredients that the skin will not readily receive. According to the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and the Environmental Working Group s Skin Deep report, penetration enhancers alter (damage) the cell structure and thus allow other harmful ingredients and impurities to enter the cells. There is an abundance of natural plant ingredients such as herbs and flowers that are beneficial to the skin and that the body naturally welcomes. These are your best choices for your skin and health care. Basics of Skin Care - Misconceptions vs. Truth Facial Cleanse - Some people believe washing their face is not necessary. Others believe washing their face will be harsh and drying to their skin. Neither of these beliefs are true. Our skin comes in daily contact with myriad toxins from exhaust fumes, communicable germs, re-cycled air at the work place and more. Add a hot climate or increased physical activity to the equation and the resulting perspiration will hold toxins on the skins surface intended for elimination. Water alone will not effectively remove the debris. We also need to consider the harm caused by harsh alkaline soaps. They strip your skin of its beneficial protective barrier. In defense the skin may produce rough callous cells. Oily skin gets mixed messages. It over-compensates for sudden dryness by producing excessive oils. Dry skin becomes extremely dry. It appears sallow and becomes rough in texture. A perfect facial cleanse affords deep yet gentle cleansing that soothes and nourishes the skin leaving it feeling clean, balanced, soft and glowing with vibrant health. Beware of facial cleansers that produce foamy suds. We have come to associate lots of lather with good cleansing. Nothing could be further from true. Many liquid facial cleansers contain sodium lauryl sulfate or other sudsing and foaming agents which are reported to cause eye irritation, skin rashes, and allergic reactions. The suds and foam may be fun, but they do not assist the cleansing process. According to a report released to the FDA in 1978, when combined with other synthetic chemicals sodium lauryl sulfate can create cancer causing N-nitrosamines. Facial Toners and Creams - Moisturizing and Hydration People often associate thick heavy creams with moisturizing. Actually it is the beneficial properties of the ingredients of the cream that soften hydrate and tone the skin. Thick, heavy creams can prevent the skin from breathing in oxygen and expelling perspiration and toxins. The moisturizing properties of a cream consist of its water content (moisture) along with the properties of its other ingredients (plant oils and herbal extracts) that provide nourishment and assist the skin s cells to maintain their moisture. A facial toner will add hydration and is the bridge between the facial cleansing and moisturizing in that it better prepares your skin to receive the moisturizer cream. A quality moisturizer cream enhances the health and beauty of your skin without clogging your pores or creating an oily film on your skin. The beneficial properties of the ingredients become part of your skin cells health. Optimal skin care is a simple daily regime of gentle, nourishing cleansing followed by a facial toner and moisturizer cream. The entire process need not require more than 1-2 minutes. Nature s herbs and flowers provide high quality nourishment for our skin. Nature doesn t need the help of harmful synthetic chemicals to be developed into beautiful skin care products. So, when you shop, look for products with only basic ingredients of nature that you recognize. You can leave the more complicated products that are made with mysterious synthetic ingredients on the shelf. Be Smart, Be Wise; Keep it Simple and Truly Natural. Eczema Skin Care - To Know How To Stop and Cure

When I first developed my eczema skin problem I was living away from home going to school. It first developed in my ear and was prone to infection which was not very nice at all, it would seep bright yellow liquid and would become dry and flaky. Within two week after it started I went to my doctor which prescribed me anti-biotics for the infection and steroid cream for my skin. This problem went on and got worst within a couple of months of constantly using different creams not a thing was working for anymore than a couple of week at a time. It was on my face and neck I could not shave without agony and my beard was good at covering it up. I felt very self conscience about my skin and my self esteem was taking a beating. A year and a half later I had seen a dermatologist which prescribed me protopic which was a very good cream, “or so I thought at first” it worked great my skin cleared it felt great, but when I stopped using the cream the eczema would come back. I went back to the dermatologist again and again when for lots of allergy tests. It was three years later the doctor had called my condition contact dermatitis which meant something I was coming into contact with was causing my eczema, so another test was organised called a patch test which is where samples of things I would coming to contact with, put on to my skin and left for five days. I was tested for detergents, chemicals and the creams I had used. The results of this test had changed my mind about conventual medicine, I had shown a huge allergic reaction to all the creams I had used. The worst was protopic, which I had been told was impossible. At this stage I was very bad it was all over my body. I learned so much more about how my skin works myself than anyone of the many doctors I had seen. The real root of my problem was inside and no amount of steroid and anti-biotic tablets were going to solve this. The creams merely covered up the eczema and it would come back. When I found the answers I had been looking for it only took 2 weeks for my skin to start to heal on its own and within two months my skin was clear. Now I am completely off creams and steroids and I do not even follow the diet anymore( although I still tries to eat healthy), and it has been for about 6 months since the first time I used the treatment. It felt great to have clear skin again I just could not believe that I was causing it with my life style. If you are like I was and need help please Click Here!

Wrinkles In Time

Blonds may have more fun, but according to scientific research, they are more prone to wrinkles, than their darker haired contemporaries. It is impossible to prevent getting wrinkles but there is plenty you can do to reduce the amount of them, and lessen their appearance. Let`s start with diet. several medical journals and articles have proven that diets rich in omega-6 fatty acids, such as linoleic acid, found in sunflower and safflower oils, as well as many nuts, is linked to less drying and thinning of the skin, which causes wrinkles. Other omega-6 heavy hitters, include flax seed, fish and olive oils. Vitamin C as we all know, is excellent for the skin and studies show that those who had a diet containing vitamin C have less wrinkles, than those who were lacking it in their diet. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that has been linked to the production of collagen, the key to skin elasticity. Vitamin A as well, is a dermo-friend, which can be found in many fruits and vegetables. Proper hydration is the most obvious ally to less wrinkled and healthy appearing skin. So, start reading labels and seeking out foods that are rich in anti-oxidants, and vitamins A and C, and incorporate these into your diet, as well as increasing your daily intake of water, will help limit the amount of wrinkling. Besides diet, there are many cosmetic treatments to help minimize wrinkling and improve the appearance of your skin. Wrinkles fall into 2 categories-fine surface lines and deep furrows. The fine line wrinkles are the more shallow of the two, and the easiest to address without surgery. Needless to say, always consult a physician before attempting any of these procedures. A glycolic peel, which is the most innocuous of all treatments, can make a very slight difference in the appearance of fine line wrinkles. Peels using salicylic and trichloroacetic acids can penetrate deeper, but come with a greater chance of side effects such as changes in skin coloration. Microdermabrasion is a sanding of the surface of the skin, using silica or aluminum crystals. Dermabrasion in comparison, is an actual surgical procedure, usually applied with a sander like mechanism, and used with general anesthesia. The effects of dermobrasion can be significant. Laser resurfacing is a procedure similar to dermobrasion, but utilizes laser for more precision and reliability. Newer technology has resulted in other lasering treatments, such as Fractional resurfacing, and Non-ablative laser resurfacing. Botox is a familiar treatment for wrinkles, that works by using botulinum toxin to paralyze the muscle in the forehead that produce the deep furrow lines, as well as other wrinkle prone sights on the face. The newest introduction to the war on wrinkles are fillers, like Restylane and Juvederm. they do exactly what they say, they are injected to plump up the wrinkles, and can last six months or longer. Needless to say, smoking is a major contributor to wrinkles, and quitting is the only way around that one. Lastly, cover up. The sun is the biggest cause of wrinkles. So load up on a moisture rich skin cream, that has an SPF of at least 30. A moisturizer with alpha hydroxy will also help protect your skin from wrinkles. Sleeping on your side, believe it or not, is also linked to wrinkles, so flip over and try to sleep face up. If you`re a devout side sleeper like myself, than invest in a satin pillowcase, to help the skin move more freely as you slumber, and dream of smooth skin (hey, visualization can`t hurt either). Of course this should continue at any age. Avoid oily makeup and coverups. Use an oil free moisturizer every day. This is also a good time to begin using an eye cream under the eye area at night. Try using products that contain green tea which have shown to help reduce the risk of skin cancer. 30 Something Your 30 s is when your skin is beginning to become a bit drier and sun damage may begin to appear. It s time to start using thicker moisturizing creams so as to lock in high contents of moisture. Continue with eye creams at night and use your sunscreen religiously. Also, skin bleaching products may need to be used to diminish dark spots from sun damage. Hint: Put your moisturizer on over damp skin. This helps lock in more moisture. 40 Something It s time to kick it up another notch. Your forties is when your skin loses much of it tightness. It may begin to look dull and your pores may become larger. Blotches, freckles, age spots, discoloration, and changes in skin color may become much more visible. Retinoids, anti-oxidants and alpha hydroxy acids can improve the look of your skin and your 40 s would be a good time to begin using them. Of course it s essential that you continue using a thick moisturizer and eye serums on a daily basis. Home microdermabrasion kits are also an option that can result in a smoother more even appearing skin texture and tone while rejuvenating your skin s texture and color. 50 Something Changes in your skin have reached high gear. Menopause has assisted in the loss of Estrogen which is what has given your skin its elasticity and kept it hydrated, however since those estrogen levels have diminished, you will begin seeing wrinkles form around your eyes, drooping eyelids and expression lines around the mouth and forehead. Begin using anti-aging or wrinkle reducing formulas such as vitamin A (Retinol) or Glycolic acid products. Retin A has proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles while improving skin texture, skin tone and color, as well as your skin s hydration levels. Glycolic acid will trigger new formation of collagen to plump cells and reduce wrinkles on the skin’s surface. Postmenopausal women can also use a cream containing progesterone that may improve skin elasticity and firmness. 60 Something By age 60 all types of collagen are significantly below their youthful levels. There are, however wonderful hydrating creams that contain Alpha Hydroxy acids (Glycolic acids), soy, green tea and retinol (vitamin A) which your skin will need now that it is drier and showing major signs of age. The alpha Hydroxy acids will help reduce droopy skin and the retinol will reduce your fine lines. 60 Plus Your skin s texture will become visibly less smooth and you will most likely begin to see age spots. You ll appreciate the early care you ve given to your skin because the signs of aging will be minimal, however, if you haven t started early you ll clearly notice the effects of neglect. While it s never too late to take care of your skin the damage you already have will be difficult to reduce without special medical treatments such as botox or perhaps surgical procedures. All the above should continue to be applied but it is wise to consult your physician on advanced treatments. If you haven t yet reached 60, the best skin care advice is to follow a good skin care regimen at an early age. It s an easy habit to get into and best of all, you ll thank yourself later on. Tips for Preventing and Treating Dry Skin on Your Baby

A baby’s skin is very thin and extremely sensitive. This is why babies tend to have a lot more skin issues than adults do. In fact, dry skin and rashes in babies are a fact of life. It is, therefore, up to you as the parent to keep your baby comfortable and do all that you can do to protect his skin. The thinness of your baby’s skin not only makes it easy for tears and scratches to occur, it also does nothing to hold in moisture which makes it easier for dry skin to occur. In a healthy adult, skin is kept moist by both the thickness of the skin and the presence of sebum. Sebum is an oily substance that is produced by hair follicles all over the body. This substance coats the skin blocking out the elements while holding vital moisture deep in the tissue. Your baby has yet to develop all of these protective measures that help prevent dry skin. That means that you need to be extra careful and diligent when it comes to taking care of your baby’s skin. Here’s how: 7 Ways to Prevent Dry Skin on Your Baby Water temperature Hot water can contribute to dry skin. Make sure that your baby’s bath water is lukewarm or tepid. A baby’s sensitive skin cannot withstand that much heat so the proper water temperature will feel a little cooler than what you think it should. Lotion Always use lotion on your baby. Apply lotion after every bath and during every outfit change. You may also want to apply lotion throughout the day if you think that dry skin is developing. Vaseline Babies are prone to rash and dry skin. Make sure that your baby’s skin is protected against anything that it may come into contact with, such as urine, by forming a barrier with Vaseline. Vaseline will help hole moisture in while at the same time prevent things that could break down the skin from coming into contact with it. Vaseline should only be used for isolated sections of skin that are extremely dry or may become dry. Elements Protect your baby’s skin from the elements by wrapping him up in the winter and shielding him from the sun in the summer. Clothing Certain clothing may irritate your baby’s skin and cause dry skin. Stay away from clothing materials that may be rough and harsh for your baby’s skin. Laundry detergent Your baby’s skin requires a different detergent than you use. Be sure to use a gentle detergent especially made for baby clothing. Bath time Dry skin has many causes including body washes and shampoos. Make sure that the bath products that you use on your baby do not cause him any irritation. Never use products that you would use on yourself on your baby. 5 Ways to Treat Dry Skin on Your Baby Lotion If you notice that your baby is developing dry skin, increase the amount of times that you put lotion on him throughout the day. In many cases, this in itself is enough to restore health and moisture to the affected skin. Over the counter treatments Sometimes you will need to buy something a little stronger than lotion to counter your baby’s dry skin condition. Be sure to consult with your doctor to see what he recommends. Increase fluids If your baby is older than six months of age and is experiencing dry skin, you can increase the amount of fluids that he is drinking. This will help restore moisture to the skin. Prescription creams In extreme cases of dry skin, you may need to obtain a prescription from your doctor to treat your baby’s skin. If this occurs, be sure to follow all of your doctor’s instructions for treating the affected skin. Be gentle Always be very gentle with dry skin. Pat your baby dry after bath time instead of rubbing him. Take care not to snag the skin with any rough fabrics or fingernails. Expect that your baby will feel some discomfort and itchiness in the affected area and take care to address his needs. Dress him in loose clothing and apply Vaseline to areas that are easily chaffed. Remember, if your baby’s skin condition does not improve or gets worse, contact his doctor. What appears to be dry skin may be something else altogether that requires a different type of treatment. www.dryskinsite.com brings you all the latest information you need to combat your dry skin problems. Key Ingredients That Matter For Your Skin Treatment

Beauty products are available everywhere. You can easily find creams, liquids and gels that claim to stop aging, moisturize skin, clear pimples, block the harmful rays of the sun, and help even out skin tone and whiten skin. However, most of the time, consumers do not really take time to look at the ingredients and components of the things that they are dabbing, spreading or rubbing on their face and body. More often than not, average people would simply use skin products in a trial and error basis or take the word of manufacturers with regard to the effectiveness of a product to solve skin problems. Because of globalization and the growing number of imported products entering the United States, it is best that you know the main ingredients of the beauty product that you are using. If you want to be beauty-product savvy, just keep on reading and discover the most commonly used ingredients in majority of beauty products available in the market: Moisturizing Factors The first thing that you have to look for in products that claim to moisturize your skin is oil. Usually natural-based products include nut, vegetable or even herbal oil to help make your skin soft and supple. Other ingredients that are known to help moisturize skin include glycerin which assists in binding water particles together to keep skin hydrated, petrolatum which is an oil derived from purified petroleum, hyaluronic acid which helps prevent wrinkles and keep skin hydrated, and butter lipid which is great for preventing skin dryness. Binding Agents The main use of binding agents in beauty products is to help prolong the shelf life of products and to keep them thick and viscous. Lanolate and isopropyl myristate are the ones responsible for the creamy consistency of a product; while parabens are used as preservatives; and stearyl and cetyl alcohols help in thickening the mixture. Sunburn Stoppers Because of the thinning of the ozone layer and global warming, rays of the sun during late morning to early afternoon have become harmful to your skin. Thus, if you want a good sunscreen, you need to ensure that it is effective in both UVA and UVB. UVA shrinks and destroys elastin and collagen in mature skin, while UVB is responsible for sun spots and age spots. Sunscreen or sun blocks need to have Mexoryl SA or avobenzone, these counteract the damaging effects of excessive exposure to sunlight. Other important ingredients are zinc oxide, titanium oxide or oxybenzone, all of which prevent the absorption of UVA rays in the skin. You should also pay attention to the sun protection factor of the products. Usually, high SPF means higher protection from the harmful effects of the sun. Pimple Busters If there is one thing that almost all people hate, it definitely is acne. What makes acne or pimples annoying is that it usually appears a night or day before important occasions such as proms, business meetings, weddings, or pictorials. Just look for salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide and tea tree oil to make sure that your acne fighter can indeed help clear out the zit. To prevent the development of pimples, you can also rely on creams and gels that contain triclosan, zinc, sulfur, and glycolic acid. Age Keepers One of the indications that your skin is aging is the appearance of wrinkles. With technological advancement in cosmetics, you no longer need to get a face lift or other invasive treatments in order to minimize, if not erase, fine lines and wrinkles. All you have to do is to use products that are rich in Vitamin A and its derivatives because these are effective in restoring and rejuvenating cells. Moreover, you also need to look for Coenzyme Q10 and Vitamin C in the list of ingredients of an anti-aging product as both are crucial in the production of elastin and collagen. Whitening Experts Making skin tone even and reducing the appearance of age spots, freckles and other blemishes can really be tricky. There are many whitening products that are harsh on the skin. Relatively safe whitening components, which are vital in preventing overproduction of melanin, include kojic acid, azealic acid, ascorbic acid, licorice extract or hydroquinone. One product that can help make skin clearer, whiter and flawless is Lumnaderm. Visit www.Lumnaderm.com for more information about this skin whitening cream.
